The Rally of sind is a traditional bed of Sind which is much thicker than a sheet and much lighter than a blanket. You can use it easily in all seasons of the year. Rally of Sind is an ancient and great masterpiece of eco-friendly recycling.
The rally is a great recycling skill that is common among rural women in Sind. It is made from used cloth which is considered useless to use. In ancient times, cotton cloth was worn in Sind. When there are six or seven pairs of such clothes, they cut them separately according to the color and make different designs by making small pieces of them and the same work is taken from the remaining pieces.
This is a unique art in Sind and it is in dire need of skill and attention. The concept of recycling has been introduced in the modern world in recent years, while it has been practiced in Sind for centuries. Suffice it to say that this art is highly valued in Sind civilization. The naive women of rural Sind still keep this art alive.
Rally has been a part of Sind’s way of life for centuries. It is used from the house of the poor to the house of the rich. It is a unique blanket that adorns the bed all year round. The best relay of the house is laid on the bed when a guest arrives. Elderly women at the Rally House specialize in making and passing on the art to their children.
Types of Rallies: –
Simple rally: – This type of relay sheet or upper layer of cloth of different colors may be used, but they are usually made according to the theory of necessity. So no special care is taken for color or design. The available fabrics are made into sheets that are shaped to size, first, they are sewn with long stitches, then they are sewn to the final sewing and then cooked, thus making a simple relay which The price is not so high.
Striped relay: — This relay is said to be much easier to prepare than other designed relays. This is done by cutting the long strips of fabric available, which are usually three-inch strips. As its length decreases with each strip, frames of different colors are formed on each strip. This type is also called a general relay.
Window Rally: — In this relay, different pieces of square rectangular design of different colors are cut and connected to each other in such a way that the colored stripes in the middle separate them from each other. For a special relay with windows, one and a half-inch square pieces of colored cloth are cut, called “tarki”. This is how such a relay is prepared after a lot of hard work.
Tuck or cutwork relay: – Its sheet is first made of black and plain cloth. Then the top of the sixteenth part is taken with square pieces of white or colored cloth and flowers, leaves, vines, or abstract designs are sewn on the black layer of the relay. Duck, camel, ship, hut designs are more popular in tuck relay designs.
Jhumrawali Rally: – This rally can be considered as more beautiful, laborious and expensive than all other rallies. Because it not only has the sophistication of design, but also a variety of materials are sewn into it, in which small round stars, pearls and silver and gold clubs work. This makes the rally very beautiful and expensive, which is often offered as a wedding gift or gift.
In the design of Sindh rallies, images of pots found in the relics of Mohanjo Daro are also made. This suggests that the background to the Sindh rally is as old as it is unique.
